f you know my mom at all, you probably know she is one hell of a baker. She usually makes dinner rolls for both sides of my extended family most every holiday. So today I helped her form over 12 dozen rolls for tomorrow! Can you see the ones shaped like little bunnies?
You can also see the porch is filling up with seedlings, which my dad is tending beyond diligently.
Here’s my mom’s roll recipe: (Be warned though, people struggle to duplicate them.)
Sweet Dough (Rolls)
- 1 cup lukewarm water
- 1 cup lukewarm milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tsp. yeast
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup melted LARD
- flour
Bake at 425 degrees for 10 to 20 min depending on their size. (When browned)
Mom usually bakes hers just 10 minutes a pan!
Most of mine I bake 10 minutes. I think if you baked any rolls 20 minutes at 425, they’d be pretty dark!
Oops! That’s what happens when you just copy original recipies:)
