y younger brother Joe stopped by the farm to check on his bees the other day.  He wanted to see if they were flying and give them some water.  The ice cream pail lid filled with water you can see in the picture is how he keeps them hydrated.  He had two hives at the farm, but he lost one this last winter.  Note the wind block my grandpa built to shelter the hives, especially during the winter:
