ith 165 ft of green bean plants and 55 ft of yellow bean plants, my Mom and me have spent a good share of the month of July bent over a bean row. My folks have the ‘Go Big or Go Home’ motto for vegetable gardening, and are still trying to raise enough food to feed an army. The two large veggie gardens combined are close to an acre. This year we planted extra onions, potatoes, cabbage, carrots, tomatoes and beans for the Bouja. My mom and I have been blanching and freezing lots of beans so far.
The Intention of this Blog
is to share my adventure of repurposing my family farm into art space and re-rooting myself in an 'old fashioned' way of life with my folks, the original Do-It-Yourselfers. It is a platform for me to share with others the things that I learn as I apprentice myself to my parents and grandparents.
