othing like a clean slate. My mom and dad got the John Deere switched over from snow blower to super-tiller and tilled the gardens last week. This weekend, my sister and brother-in-law, my folks and I got a lot planted: Spinach, Kale, Lettuce, Radishes, Collard Greens, Garden Cress, Rutabaga, Kohlrabi, Parsnips, Carrots, Peas, 7 rows of potatoes, and 5 rows of onions! Our extended winter had us feeling very behind, but maybe we are only about a week behind ‘normal’. It was awfully gusty this weekend, so we use ‘wind stakes’ to keep the lines straight as you can see in the picture below:
The Intention of this Blog
is to share my adventure of repurposing my family farm into art space and re-rooting myself in an 'old fashioned' way of life with my folks, the original Do-It-Yourselfers. It is a platform for me to share with others the things that I learn as I apprentice myself to my parents and grandparents.
