have always wanted to own/use
a drawknife. The posts we planed with Conrad last week had a good amount of bark on some edges and so I asked my Grandpa if he knew where I might find a drawknife to purchase in St. Cloud, MN. He said he didn’t think I’d find one in town, but he had one that I could borrow (pictured at left). He said that it was older than I was, and made
of real steel, so I wouldn’t be able to break it. He added, now-a-days, people think they can call something steel if it merely sat on the
shelf next to some steel…
The drawknife worked great and I got both posts cleaned up and then sanded them with a belt sander. On Saturday my Grandpa helped me install it and it looks BEAUTIFUL.
